Pine Chirathivat

Pine Chirativat, a Thai film photographer whom started off her career since the age of 15. She started saving up and got hold of her first camera, Minolta Hi-Matic F 35mm., Shy and quiet, she chose to portray her thoughts, beliefs and vision through the lens of a camera. Passionate and determined, she travelled around Thailand and the world capturing new memories.

She had worked with several well-known photographers in Thailand, then decided stepped out of her comfort zone to explore her interests further here in London. Here, alone at the age of 18, she enrolled herself to Central Saint Martins; studying Graphic Communication Design. Currently, taking photography course as a minor and opened her home studio in Old street.

Pine’s style is simple, minimalistic yet elegant. Shooting portraits is her specialty. Storytelling by immersing, observing and capturing people in their elements. “Seeing is believing” – Pine. She has fallen in love with this medium of communication.

Film photography is her go to. She believes that with film photography, she gets to grow with the work. Having to take time, rethink, envision everything before clicking the shutter. Then the result is not immediate. Having to process the film herself, once it develops, she gets the sense of pride and accomplishment. Pine’s work uses both 35mm and medium format film camera.

Recently, her interests towards fashion surfaced. Pine is fascinated by the idea that one’s apparel can express and represent one’s identity and feelings. She sees this as the medium of speaking out. She decided to study styling, wanting to use fashion and clothing to break people out of their shells and comfort zone.
